Sponsor a Girl
By becoming a sponsor, you provide a girl living in poverty in Guatemala with a full-year scholarship to our empowerment programs.
Your support will help a girl participate in our weekly workshops where she will learn about her rights, goal-setting, gender equality, puberty, sexual health, violence prevention and so much more. She will also have access to our comprehensive violence prevention and support programs, psychologists, therapists and social work support.
Investing in girls creates a ripple effect of positive change not only in the lives of the girls but in their community at large as well. When a girl’s self-value is intact, she will grow up to be an educated, productive citizen, and a prepared employee.
How it works
You can choose between making a one-time donation ($240 USD/ $300 CAD) or donating monthly ($20 USD / $25 CAD).

For American and Canadian donors we will issue a tax receipt upon your donation.

To keep our students as safe as possible, and to keep all your donations focused entirely on our programs, we do not provide sponsorship matching. This means you will not be matched to a specific girl or be able to communicate with her. If this is something you like to do, please contact us about other options
Other Sponsorship Opportunities
Sponsor A Facilitator
($ 55 USD per month / $75 CAD)
Facilitators are the backbone of our entire program. They are real-life authentic role models who bring the SERniña curriculum to life. All women come directly from the communities where they are working, and have been trained extensively in the SERniña foundational philosophy and methodology. This option covers the fair salary paid to one of our Program Facilitators so she can empower an additional group of 15 girls each week. Program Facilitators are young local women aged 19-30 who run SERniña’s Empowerment Workshops.
Sponsor A Girl Group
($ 240 USD per month / $300 CAD)
Every REALgirl group consists of no more than 15 participants so each girl can feel special and feel heard. They meet for two hours every week with their facilitator to work through the innovative and creative SERniña curriculum.
This option covers most costs associated with running one full workshop of a group of 15 girls, including all needed educational and art materials, and customized program materials for each participant such as journals, and workbooks.
